Breathwork
Our breath can be truly transformative. When we focus on our breath, we learn a great deal about our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state.
Breathwork is an effective way to become aware and allows you to focus on the present moment. Regulating your breathing can help you address the root causes of stress or anxiety and even help you overcome your triggers. Conscious breathing will change how you respond to daily life and help you react with deliberate intention rather than a response based on anxiety, stress, or fear.
For example, when the breath becomes erratic, it signals to our body that we are anxious, fearful, or worried. When it is calm and regulated, we feel safe and at ease. Paying attention to our breathing patterns allows us to pay attention to our emotions and what we need at any given moment.
The way you breathe affects and influences your nervous system and brain. When you slow your breathing down and focus on the breath, it activates your nervous system. This activation of your nervous system is responsible for whether you respond calmly or with some type of stress response.
Breathwork moves us from our sympathetic nervous system ( fight or flight mode) to our parasympathic (rest and digest mode) allowing us to use our energy to heal, digest, process emotions, build immunity and create harmony, calm, and homeostasis within our bodies.
Deep breathing releases neurotransmitters which trigger the release of feel-good chemicals, which leads to feelings of happiness and relaxation. When you breathe deeply, it increases your oxygen inhalation and causes you to exhale toxins.
Taking deep, calming breaths when a trigger or stressful event occurs immediately calms the mind and body. Deep breathing can cause you to handle situations in a present and mindful way. When you learn to respond to stressors mindfully, you will experience greater success in your recovery and develop more resiliency and gratitude.
When we are in the rest and digest state, our bodies are calm and ignite inner healing. When our breathing is calm and smooth, we experience feelings of connection, trust, and safety.
However, when we are in fight or flight mode, we are ready for an attack from a dangerous situation. Our bodies produce cortisol, we feel anxious or worried, our heart rate gets faster, our breathing gets shallow and energy is being taken from our digestion and immunity.
Unfortunately with our busy, stressful lifestyles, it is common nowadays to feel stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and run down. This is because cortisol dampens our immune system. How? It’s all to do with our nervous system.
Our nervous system is made up of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight state) and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest state). When we are in the rest and digest state, our bodies are calm and ignite inner healing. When our breathing is calm and smooth, we experience feelings of connection, trust, and safety.
But most of us are in flight or fight mode a lot more than we should be, creating excess cortisol production, and honestly, it’s slowly killing us. It’s killing our immune systems and our circulatory system, affecting the function of our hearts, causing strokes and heart attacks, damaging our respiratory health, interrupting our sleep, creating anxiety and panic attacks, affecting our digestive systems, and forcing cells to multiply at an excessive rate leading to ill health.

Breathwork helps people to recover and to reconnect with their body and emotions and create conscious, well-thought-out responses. As you practice breathing techniques, over time, you will focus on your breathing first rather than an immediate reaction.
If you are interested in exploring breathwork look no further, we will lead you in many techniques and practices to choose from, including:
- Conscious connected breathwork: Uses the breath on a conscious and unconscious level and links the conscious and unconscious mind
- Rebirthing: Uses breathwork to release the trauma you experienced when you were born
- Clarity breathwork: Uses a circular or continuous breathing technique to clear blocked emotions
The benefits are not merely physiological; they extend to mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual harmony. In each intentional breath, a symphony of rejuvenation unfolds, fostering a resilient mind and a vibrant life. Embrace the breath as a guiding force, and let its rhythmic dance lead you to a harmonious existence—one where vitality and inner peace intertwine effortlessly.
Breathwork is said to change and balance brainwaves; over time, this recalibrates the brain, which eliminates many symptoms caused by old emotions and trauma. The parts of yourself long forgotten wake up, and you can feel inspired, creative, and spiritual. By controlling your breathing, you can become fully aware of your immediate state of mind and emotions and become present in the moment. When you become fully aware of your feelings, you pave a pathway to intentionally and objectively respond to what is happening around you.

don’t just take my word for it, this is what clients say:
It was like something had taken over my body
Emma had a workshop which I attended- oh my God! During the class for the first time I would say ever, my jaw relaxed, my shoulders dropped. I can only describe it as follows, I was always rigid almost like a clothes hanger & then during the class I felt like that skeleton we all remember handing on the back of the science lab door, loose, relaxed, shoulders dropped etc.
Then afterwards I was engulfed with emotion, I cried and cried, it was like something had taken over my body. It was actually incredible. I know for a fact personally – I keep everything in , never show any emotion, get on with it – well tonight the lid on the pressure cooker was opened &my God did the emotion flow. Thanks so much Emma – I have “never” experienced anything like it & I have tried everything. If in doubt, just go… you will not regret it & I only hope I have more nights like tonight where I will continue to shed layers of suppression we all have but probably to afraid to let go… Thanks again Emma xx
Exactly what I needed
Emma, I enjoyed every minute of todays day. It was exactly what I needed. I have done other wellness days but nothing like this. It was absolutely incredible. Thank you so much!
I’ll be back
I was sceptical as a man doing this. I only did it because my wife booked it. And all I can say is WOW. I did not realise how emotionally blocked I was and am. I have more work to do. But this was a great start. Emma held space for me to talk and then she guided me through the breathwork. She is an expert at what she does. During the session I released so much emotion. I was in floods of tears. Hard to admit as a man but I tell you, this has changed me. The support and care Emma gave me before and after was amazing. In my opinion we all need this. And regularly. Now I know what everyone means by self care and emotional release. As Arnie says: “I’ll be back”!
I’m in total awe of you
I had my first ever 1to1 breathwork session with Emma. I don’t have words and find it difficult to articulate how amazing it was. It was actually unbelievable. I feel like I have had a massive release and huge block broken down. I feel so so light. Like something within has been released. Thank you Emma. I’m in total awe of you and this treatment.
The release was immense
Emma, thank you so very much. I had an experience I can’t put words on. What I can say is that I am in therapy for years but never have I ever experienced what I experienced tonight. The release, was immense and what I so badly needed but I could never find it or achieve it until doing your Breathwork Journey. I have finally found what I for so long needed. Thank you Emma.
I felt so much lighter
The moment I walked into Emma’s beautiful space, I felt safe and supported. We had a beautiful chat before we began where Emma grounded me and explained how this type of breathwork can shift energetic and emotional blocks out of the body. Emma guided me through this powerful breathwork session and made me feel comfortable and safe throughout. I felt so much lighter leaving the session and look forward to my next one soon.
Better than holidays
This is something I’ve never done before. It’s deep. I feel like I just came back from a 2 week holiday after Emma’s Breathwork journey. I could feel the energy. I was moving around. I feel so rested. So calm. I’m so grateful Emma. I can’t wait to come back again. No Ryanair flights needed for a break. Just a trip to yours.
